Liverpool reserves beat Aston Villa 3-0 to win the Barclays Premier Reserve League. Majority of the players in Liverpool reserves is made up of youngsters signed from abroad by Rafa and some youngster from Melwood academy. I hope some of these youngsters become part of the first team in the future. It is nice to win trophies at youth level, but they are bonus. The future of club looks bright with the youngster coming through academy and the ones bought from abroad.
We also beat Man City in a boring 1-0 match. Torres scored the winner for us. Man City started the season really well, but they have faded since the Christmas. They are also in turmoil as their Thai owner want to replace ex England manager Sven with 2002 world cup winning Brazilian coach Scolari. It is a shame the way foreign owners are treating the English clubs. Tom and Gillette at Liverpool and Shinawatra at City are disgrace to football. They should fuck off.

Gareth Barry of Aston Villa has emerged as our prime target this summer. He will cost us around 10 to 15 million pounds. Barry is England international and good friend of Gerrard. He came through youth system of Aston Villa. He is a versatile player. He can play left back, center midfield, and left sided midfielder. Aston Villa is reluctant to sell him as he is one of their best players. This deal will take some time to finalize.
